TOTOWA SEWER DEPARTMENT
The primary function of the Totowa Sewer Department is to handle and manage the collection and conveyance of approximately 2,500,000 gallons per day of sanitary sewerage from individual users through the Borough and to pump it to the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners located in Newark, New Jersey where it is properly treated and disposed of.
The Department consists of a network of seven (7) pumping stations located in various sections of the town and convey the sewerage to one central pump station which then pumps all the sewerage collected to Passaic Valley Sewerage Commissioners through a pipeline shared with Little Falls and West Paterson.
The Department consists of three (3) employees.
Other assignments conducted are at the discretion of the Borough of Totowa Mayor and Council.
