Councilman John Waryas
Councilman John Waryas has resided in the Borough of Totowa for the past 43 years and presently lives at No. 287 Winifred Drive with his wife Donna and their son Kyle.
John is a graduate of St. James Grammar School and Passaic Valley Regional High School. Upon his graduation, he entered his family business known as Main Army-Navy located in Paterson, New Jersey. Councilman Waryas is a member of Valley Inter-Town Athletic League since 1976, serving as Softball Commissioner from 1983 to 1990, Vice President from 1989 to 1990. He was a member of the Totowa Board of Adjustment from 1987 to 1998 and served as its Chairman since 1992. He has been a member of the Totowa Republican Party since 1985, was elected to County Committee in 1986 and served as President of the Republican Club from 1990 to 2003. John is a member of the Passaic County Police Chiefs Association, Murph’s Boys Charitable Association, North Jersey Transportation Authority, he is a member and Usher of St. James Church, a member of Knights of Columbus, Council #6574 and a member of the Sons of American Legions.
Councilman Waryas is serving his sixth term on the Totowa Council having been elected in 1998. He is Chairman of the Finance Committee and a member of the Public Safety Committee and Liaison & Inspection Committee. He also serves as liaison to the Dwight D. Eisenhower library.
